But he’s is no longer able to make money from touring and his wife is leaving her job to help him as he goes through experimental treatment. Since Fekete’s cancer is rare, there isn’t much research. Insurance will only cover part of the treatment.

Surfer Blood is having a benefit album release party to raise money for Fekete on May 12th.

The event is being held at Bowery Ballroom in New York.

Surfer Blood, Julianna Barwick, Kip Berman of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, Cults, Marnie Stern, We Are Scientists, and others will play the event. Tickets are $20.
