How Much of a Difference Does a ‘Festival Survival Pack’ Make at EDC?

IMG_9546

Last month I went to EDC for the first time. The week beforehand I was at Governors Ball, two weeks beforehand I was at FORM Festival, and I came down with strep throat three times in two months. It had completely drained me.

Frankly, I was dreading EDC. I was expecting a shitshow worse than Governors Ball and I was expecting to get sick again from exhaustion.

Surprisingly I had a ton of fun at EDC! It was awesome!

I said huge music festivals are “OVER” in my Governors Ball review, but EDC proved me wrong.<!–/*

At EDMbiz (the conference before EDC) a company called Vitality Gear gave me a Festival Survivor Pack, that they said contains all festival essentials. The pack contained the following items:

I had already taken sunglasses, earplugs, a portable charger, and sunscreen with me to Vegas. But the sunscreen I took was in a huge bottle, I paid like $19 for my portable charger, and if one of my earplugs happened to fall out I didn’t have a replacement.

Luckily the Festival Survivor Pack came with a mini sunscreen bottle, a AA battery powered charger, and three Earpeace ear plugs (just in case you lose one). It was also good to have wet wipes and hand sanitizer on hand.

Earpeace ear plugs will set you back $16 on Amazon. Portable chargers generally cost $15+. Buy those two things separately and you’ve already spent at least $31.

So how much is this Festival Survivor Pack?… $24.99

It’s a smokin’ deal (and no they didn’t pay me to say that). The only things missing from the pack were a refillable water bottle and snacks.

The company does have a pack that comes with snacks, for an extra $5. The price increase seems worth it, considering it comes with lentil chips, hummus, two Kind bars, two packs of sunflower seeds, and four tubes of peanut butter.

However, I’d like to see a pack option that comes with either a collapsable water bottle or a bottle with a built in filter.
